Turbo

TURBO

Turbo and I are well here in Maine. He has a great thing going with two walks a day and a mid-day dog park break or beach romp. I think I told you that there are many beaches near by, several dog parks, and one on the water about a half block away. Every Saturday morning early we go to Willard Beach and play ball for nearly two hours. He loves swimming and retrieving the ball. He swims out to it, draws his head back, and lurches forward attacking it like an alligator. The beach is full of dogs until the 9:00am curfew but the ball is his only interest. Then it's home to dry off and munch his favorite bone treat. And then comes the weekly grooming session which is not his favorite.

It's hard to believe but he gets more adorable and funny all the time. His newest trick is to drop his tennis ball into my lap as I'm driving ( repeatedly ) when he feels we've done enough errands and it's time to hit dog park. When ever I return to the car from a store or errand he immediately smells my breath to see if I've had anything to eat that he's been left out of. There is always some new form of communication or some new antic. I just love that dog! And here comes the part where I tell you ---- "I will always be grateful to you for putting us together." It's one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

In January I had my hair ALL shaved off and wore a wig for two months so I could stop coloring my hair. Drastic yes, but I'd been turning silver since I was 18. Anyway, after about a month I tried to take a picture of Bobo and me. My arm wasn't long enough to get out far enough to get his whole snout in the frame. The flash blasted the color out of my face and it was in a funny angle anyway trying to make the photo. Regardless, I used it to paint a picture of the two of us as our 4 year anniversary was coming up on May 6th. I'm sending you an attachment of the painting. You probably won't recognize me.

Well, I'm still trying to find my uniquely suited position here. I've been fortunate to freelance and teach a drawing class. I may return to San Diego in July to work. Meanwhile, Bobo and I press forward and enjoy our time together. I am working on getting a website up for my pastel portraits.

When time permits send me an update from your side of the country. I think of you often and wish you well.

All my best,

Josepha
