There were terrible fires in California in 2003. Janet and Murphy were forced from their home.

Thanks, Rusty. We're doing just fine especially now that we've got light, heat and computer again! We evacuated out to the high desert, the Golden Acorn Casino about 50 miles east of here. Lots and lots of people from this area evacuated there. Ole' Murph turned into the peace keeper! You know how stress can make some people rather testy? There were more than a few men out there that chose to relieve their stress with cans of beer or bottles of scotch or whatever, and let me tell you, tempers were running a little on the high side! LOL I found out Murph has another latent talent -- keeping the peace! It all started when a guy that was camping near our group got a little too testy with his wife. I had Murphy tied to a motor home bumper on a heavy duty retracting leash (hehe) that was just long enough for him to reach Mr. Testy's camp! Do you know, we never heard another peep from that guy? His wife came over and asked about Murphy and to thank me for his services (like I had anything to do with it!) After that, the word was out and Murph was like the hero of the evacuees. After that, anybody that had a problem came to borrow him--Mr. Peacekeeper! Who knew? What a guy! No wonder I can't get a date! LOL Must be that evil eye he throws around, ya think? (giggle)
