Dedicated to finding the perfect home for every homeless Airedale

MURPHY
MAX

Murphy was turned in to the shelter by her owner at age 10. Gus and Marcy wanted a young cat-loving Airedale, but when they met Murphy, they fell in love. After Murphy settled in, we looked around for a youngster who would fit into the household and found Max -- a big, friendly boy who needed the attention of a loving family.

We all seem to be settling in very well here. WHAT A HOUSEFULL!!!!!! LOL Murphy has been very successful in communicating to all.. that she is the Head Bitch! Literally ! *G* She has set up her boundaries and her 'druthers,' and everyone seems to understand. She is certainly moving a lot more, getting more exercise, which is very good!

Mad MAX is a delight. A big lummox of a delight, but nevertheless, delightful! He is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet, and when he leans up against me -- or comes in my office to give me a 'nudge' I get the feeling of this small, sad child in there. He weighed in at the vet, the Thursday after coming home, at a tidy 83 lbs. Our vet said that he is a FIIIIIIIIINE specimen of an Airedale. The hematoma in his outer ear, is OLD, was not treated at the time it happened, and has become a solid part of his ear. Nothing to do about it at this juncture. He had conjunctivitis and an ear infection (same ear), and she said that he is probably prone to ear infections, (she thinks that is how he got the hematoma -- from scratching), so we are washing his ears out twice a week with an ear wash.

We enrolled BOTH Max and Murphy in basic obedience course and began on the 6th. They are both doing so well and they have commented that Gus and I are behaving so much better lately! *G* I plan on taking Max on to the 'Good Citizen' course as well as the 'Off Leash' course later this year.

Now, to the kittens???????. Clyde, Cletus, and Clevis, ( he is missing some toes). They are now FLYING through the dog doors to go in and out -- as well as the cat door to go in and out of the cat house. Murphy understands that they are family and we don't eat family. Max has been very gentle with them and tolerates their climbing on him most of the time. He LOVES their food! LOL

So, all in all, we are settling in as a LARGE family. Gus is saying that I won't be happy until I have 5-6 Airedales here. I'm not so sure. LOL
