Oliver

Hi all,

Thought you might like to see a picture of my 71 pound lap dog. Oliver has grown at lot - from 55 pounds when he was in your care. He is really a neat dog. He still gets mouthy but is learning he doesn't get petted if we feel any teeth and is getting much better about it.

He waits at the bathroom door every night to get his teeth brushed and grins so I can do a good job. Never had a dog do that before. All our dogs have liked Pro Dental toothpaste but he loves it.

He does a run almost every morning. Gil and I get a few hundred feet apart and he runs - full bore - between us, does a finish and gets a treat at each end of each run. We have him go between us at least 3 times, 4 times if he is really into it. He really thinks that is fun, too. He even did it real good when someone walked by fairly close to us. He didn't get side tracked. He really impressed me (and surprised me)!

He loves everyone so we don't have to worry about that. He likes all dogs unless they want to tear him apart and he would fight them rather than back off so we are careful to keep him out of that situation.

We have to be careful playing with him. He gets totally wild. We got him a frisbee and have not had real good success with it, yet. He tries to catch it if he is in the mood. Thought it would be a good way for him to do some running when one of us walks him alone and he can't run between us. He would rather play with it alone and throw it for himself.

He is a beautiful dog and is real intelligent (as all Airedales seem to be). He has a great personality and is lots of fun. He rides in the truck sitting on the back seat with his front feet on the hump in the center of the floor and will stay that way for miles and miles. He is tall enough to see out the front window between the front seats. He can also lean against our shoulders when he wants to.

We took him to Santa Cruz for Christmas and he was a great house guest. He behaved very well. I had warned the relatives that he might get a bit wild and he didn't. He was off leash in their house all the time and was a perfect gentleman. We slept in our pop-up pickup camper and he did just fine with that, too. He thought the whole experience was done just for him and he really enjoyed it.

All in all he is doing just great. Hope you and your pups are all doing great, too.

Linda
