6/22/2002 -- A sweet, pretty girl, but scared and confused. It's difficult to show just how bad the leg is. What you can't see in the pictures is the bulge on the inside of her left leg where the knee joint sharply angles to the inside. She just lightly touches the foot to the ground, but doesn't bear any weight on it.

7/4/02 -- Rose has settled in nicely, perking up her ears, wagging her tail and smiling at me frequently. She is totally unintimidated by Jack and Riley and frequently invites them to play by playbowing. If that doesn't work, she slugs them in the shoulder with her front paw.

7/31/02 -- Jack and Rose playing. Notice who ends up on the bed with all the toys!

8/8/2002 Step 1 -- surgery -- a great success! Now, on to rehab.

A rose stone 'Dale for Rose. Julie McLemore sent this adorable rose quartz 'Dale as a gift.

Rose's veterinarians generously discounted their fees for the surgery. Her medical expenses were paid through the donations of Airedale lovers all over the world to the Airedale Terrier Club of America Rescue Treasury.

Rose has created a webpage to thank her benefactors -- individuals and organizations who have made donations to Rose in the form of free or discounted services and direct monetary contributions in her name.
