and Shamus (rescue boy from Annette)

I live in Gloversville, New York with Airedales Shamus and Gaelan, and Norwich Terrier Norton who thinks he should provide direction to all of us. I am also presently foster Mom to Airedale Barnabas. I can find nothing wrong with this beautiful, gentle boy. (His previous owners could find nothing right with him.) I have been working with Candy Kramlich, from Metropolitan New York Airedale Rescue, since April 2002 to help cover Upstate New York with a small group of other volunteers.

The boys and I are in the process of restoring a post and beam cape on 47 acres. I do the construction. They are responsible for rodent management. They also assist with garden excavations.

I have been sewing since I was a child. About fifteen years ago I discovered an exquisite wild flower quilt at a quilt show in the Adirondack Mountains. The price tag was far out of reach, so I went home and made one. I have been hooked on quilting ever since. I could not believe my good fortune when I happened upon this web site that provided both quilters and Airedales!

I work as a residential program director for the Lexington Center, which offers diverse programs to persons with disabilities in our region. I will celebrate my 30th anniversary this year. I am blessed to have the opportunity to work with so many remarkable people every day.

I have decided to meet my first serious mid life crisis by starting belly dancing lessons this Saturday. The instructor assures me that a very inhibited 50 year old woman with osteoarthritis can learn, and there is a massage therapist in the class.

Karen, who designed our Home At Last quilt and did the wonderful appliqué medallion border, did part of the assembly and finishing appliqué to tie 'Annette's House' together. Check out Karen Brown’s work on “Annette’s House"
