Tweed (1989-2002) and Leo (1990-2003)

No matter what you've recently heard to the contrary, Evie *does* exist! ;-] A modem meltdown and a mushy motherboard kept her out of her computer for a month or more, during which time she was heard to mumble about her adult sons, the literary, sporty, but computer illiterate son Greg pretty close to home, but no help at all with computer troubles, and the A+ certified computer guru son John too far from home to be much help, working toward advanced Microsoft certifications in another state. Her adult daughter Hilary, disabled and non verbal, might have known how to get that modem working, but she wasn't telling! (Airedaler Jesse Parris and other members of the ADT Lovers Home email list to the Rescue, and at last Evie's computer system is working again! Yeah!)

Ack! What an irritating time, but for one wonderful event! Rescue Wacky joined Evie's big Rescue family of hoomans, cats, dogs, three bunnies and a pet rat! Wacky is an SSAR --Southern States Airedale Rescue-- Rescue boy who at five years old is totally sweet and full of fun. He carries his stuffed toys everywhere, but when it's time to play wild in the yard with his new Mom he chooses his orange and blue (GO GATORS!) squeaky dumbbell. He's really fast, and he's good at fetch! He drops the dumbbell and tells Mom it's time for her to throw it again. Sometimes he mis-gauges the throw and goes flying off in the wrong direction, but then if he can't find it after a time of wild and woolly search and rescue, he comes back to Mom for input. He's learned to follow Mom's pointing finger to help him track down his dumbbell. This boy is a joyful thinker, and belovéd!

When Evie, a retired teacher, is not playing with and caring for her daughter, her beloved critters, and her garden, she's busy helping Airedale Rescue. She's made blocks for three Rescue quilts, worked one year as the ticket sale manager for the quilt sale, and is the fundraising coordinator for the ATCA National Rescue and Adoption Committee. For Florida Sunshine Airedalers, Evie will be maintaining the website and doing transport runs, and for Southern States Airedale Rescue, she's agreed to be an initial email/phone contact person and to do home visits in the North Florida/South Georgia area.

Evie reminds you that with over 600 Airedales coming into Rescue each year across the US, the heartfelt, generous support of the whole Airedale community is needed to make good things happen for these very dear unfortunate Airedales!

This Laundry block honors my sweet Rescue Leo, who loved sniffing and snuggling with the warm clean clothes fresh out of the dryer!
