My name is Carol Elsworth, and I was “Grandma” to Bailey, a female Airedale Terrier, who belonged to my daughter, Lisa. Bailey spent much time with us as my daughter works long hours. We lost Bailey in July of 2003, at the age of 13-1/2 years.
My husband, John, and I retired to Cheboygan, Michigan, in 1983 from the Detroit area. My husband does woodcraft and goes to many arts and craft shows during the summer. I am an active Hospice volunteer in our community, am active in my church, and also teach quilting and belong to two quilt guilds in our area.
We enjoy traveling, usually spending a month at Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, in the Fall, and taking a Spring trip as well. Last year we went to Branson, Missouri, in May, and to Europe at the end of October for a family reunion.
This is my third year of being involved in the Airedale Quilting Bee. These dogs are so special – I am happy to help with Rescue efforts. Bailey was not a Rescue dog in the true sense, but was rescued from the backyard of friends who found her too much to handle. All she really needed was company!
I had requested an outdoor scene and
that's what I got! For some reason, Airedales love carrots!
