Thank you to www.craftgard.com for giving the Quilting Bee a reduced rate on the Quilt Display Stand which will hold the Airedale Antics quilt at Montgomery.
For the last three years, members of the Airedale Internet community have gathered together in Cyberspace to plan a handmade quilt, created block by block and then sewn together and quilted exclusively by Airedalers. The quilt is raffled off at the Airedale Terrier Club of America National Specialty. This year's Rescue Quilt is based on the theme "AIREDALE ANTICS." The quilt includes 30 vertical and horizontal rectangular blocks, ranging in size from 4x6 to 12x16 inches. The quilt dimensions are approximately 54" by 78". Each block has a jewel-toned background and is custom framed by batik sashing fabrics in colors that tie it together with its neighbors.
In addition to the raffle for the "AIREDALE ANTICS" Quilt, there will be a raffle for a smaller quilt, approximately 30" x 30", consisting of four blocks representing the four seasons ... "FAIRE SEASONS." Tickets will not be sold separately for this drawing. For every five tickets purchased at one time by a single person for the main quilt drawing, you will receive one ticket for a chance to win the "FAIRE SEASONS" Quilt. All proceeds will go to the ATCA Rescue Committee for distribution to regional groups that rescue Airedales in need, provide medical care and foster them until a suitable forever-home can be found.
The 1999 and 2000 Airedale Rescue Quilts were part of a display at the AKC Museum of the Dog in St. Louis.
