"Jake's Gentle Reminder!"

Jake was an elderly Airedale that was my first Airedale, and my first Rescue Airedale. He came to me with severe separation anxiety, a howling problem and a bad knee. After a few months he and I developed a rapport, and he was definitely my very best old friend.

One day when I was distracted by the TV on my way to put the supper bowls down on the floor he nipped me very gently on the derriere to keep my mind on my job! This was Jake's way of reminding me to get on with it! He was a character!

I miss Jake very much.

I now share my life with Ziggy, who is a two and a half year old Airedale, and Rescue Airedale Clara who is a year old. Brandy, a very elderly greyhound/lab cross is now fifteen years old and is glad that Ziggy has an Airedale friend to play with!

We also have Fiona the tortoiseshell cat, and Jeannie the dilute torti cat. Together they are a great entertainment troupe! We live in an old schoolhouse in rural Ontario, Canada, with a one acre fenced yard for outdoor frolics. I am a programmer/analyst with major interests in all aspects of fibre art, the internet, and animal welfare.

Thanks to Christie Williams for making the wonderful drawing of Jake for me.
