I had carefully laid several long strips of black landscape plastic between rows of sunflower seeds. I had weighted each strip down with stones and sod. I saw a motion out of the corner of my eye and turned to see Shamus in full tuckbuttrun with a 16 foot piece of black landscape plastic billowing out behind him like a banner, as it rained rocks and sod. Trying to capture the little rascal and recover my plastic was also an adventure.
Christie Williams created the sketch that guided the block assembly.
Artist's Bio:
My husband Todd and I live in Gloversville, New York in a 1835 vintage "handy man special" on 46 beautiful acres that are terrier heaven. I had visions of Tasha Tudor, gardening, and quilting by the pond. Reality has been red squirrels in the bedroom, doing dishes in the bathtub for a year, and urging these middle aged plus, arthritic knees up and down garage sale ladders.
We are allowed to share the couch with two Airedales, one Wire Haired Fox Terrier and a Norwich Terrier. We also have six goats, two rabbits and chickens.
I've worked as a Residential Program Director for the Fulton County ARC for 28 years to support my dogs and my hobbies. My husband is a self employed printer.
Webmaster's Note: Karen and her husband donated the raffle tickets for the 2001 Quilt drawing. Thank you Karen & Todd!!
