Connie lives in Salem, Oregon and has been rescuing Airedales for 12 years. She is the Northwest Coordinator for Airedale Terrier Rescue, covering the states of WY, MT, ID, OR and WA. Northwest Rescue has placed over 300 Airedales.
Connie's dog family consists of:
- Paige, a 3-year-old from England that Connie has had from the age of 14 weeks. Connie is a member of the Luckiemute Training Club and Clackamas Search and Rescue. Paige is destined to be Connie's new search and rescue dog.
- Bentley, a male from Georgia McRay
- Brad, an over grown nine year old Airedale who is a throwback to his Otterhound ancestors. He comes from two very good breeders and all of his siblings are of normal size, but he is 28" at the withers and 125 lbs., has a short neck, low ears, and a soft coat. Brad is an absolute sweetheart and does therapy work with Connie.
- Charley is a three-year-old Welsh Terrier. His father took Crufts (Forever Yours). Unfortunately, the breeder did not give the owners directions of how to feed and so he turned out to be 45 pounds at 11 months when Connie and her husband got him. He was tied to the kitchen sink and muzzled when they picked him up. At the Turner household, Charley has lost 13 pounds.
- Another Charlie is a 8-year-old Welsh that was rescued from a lifetime of being tied to barn.
Connie's human family consists of husband, Gordon, two children and four grandchildren.
Connie and her husband love going to Crufts every other year and she feels that every Airedale lover should make a point of visiting the land of their origin.
Connie is a member of the following dog organizations:
Member of Airedale Terrier Club of America
Northwest coordinator Airedale Terrier Rescue
Member of National Airedale Terrier Association (England)
Member of Luckiemute Training Club
Member of Clackamas Search and Rescue
