I live in Victoria, B.C. Canada. My husband and I owned a very special Airedale named Pepper. Pepper came into our lives at 14 weeks and for 13 years she went everywhere with us - no questions asked and always ready for fun! We dearly miss her loyalty and playfulness. As we were not able to have another large dog, we have chosen a female Welsh Terrier. We are discovering that Megan has many of the delightful characteristics of the Airedale packed into a small body. 

I began quilting soon after I retired from teaching in 1998. While searching quilting and dog sites on the web, I came across "Annette's House" and ADT Rescue. I was immediately attracted to such a worthy cause and have made this square in memory of Pepper. Pepper went on many camping adventures and enjoyed canoeing - no chance of leaving her behind!  I am sure she would have loved a sailing holiday.  Each May, Victoria hosts "Swiftsure" an  international yacht race. Although she never participated in "The Swiftsure", she would have been a keen competitor.
