My block is a depiction of Gracie’s last adventure. In March of 2004 Gracie went to Cannon Beach. It was her first visit to the Pacific Ocean which I had missed for 5 years of living in WI. We had returned to my beloved PNW in July of 2003. Gracie helped me through some difficult times after that lovely adventure. I returned to college (at my age!), filed for divorce and returned after 33 years to my initial career choice as a Speech and Language Therapist. Gracie became critically ill during the last summer and I nursed my sweet girl. She moved with me to my condo in Vancouver and died of cancer (surprise) 5 days later. My picture is with Trevor. Trevor had lived all of his life in a lovely breeding kennel. He was groomed and trained to show, but never grew large enough to champion. Gracie left her instructions for this gentle affectionate Airedale. He is learning to be a house dog, with baskets of toys and his own person. He has started classes and may become a therapy dog. Trevor has brought me more robust health and joy. I miss Gracie girl but I am so blessed to be with Trevor. You should know that Trevor and I were brought together because of members of the Airedale Quilting Bee.
