Lori Taylor

Pennsylvania, USA

Lori and her husband, Ron Swisher, are owned by two Airedales, Flo (9) and Forge (6).  Flo and Forge also live with their two cats, Flux and AJ.  Flo is a certified therapy dog and Lori and Flo do pet therapy at a couple local nursing homes.  Lori and Flo also take competition obedience classes from time to time.  Ron trains Forge for hunt tests and they have experienced success in fur tracking, upland flushing and land/water retrieving.  Ron also hunts with Forge for pheasant and ruffed grouse.  Flo and Forge vacation with Ron and Lori, whether it is on the ski slopes in Vermont or the beaches of Delaware.  Lori appreciates and supports the work and dedication of all the volunteers to help the Rescue ‘Dales by making a quilt block each year for the annual Rescue quilt raffle.

When the theme, “Airedales on Howlidays,” was adopted by our quilting bee, I immediately thought of a photo of my Dad, during World War II, standing proudly in uniform, in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  With that photo in mind, I thought about what two mischievous and industrious vacationing Airedales might do on a visit to the Leaning Tower.  My quilt block depicts that thought.
