Leslie Apple is a lifelong artist and jazz lover. She was also born loving dogs. She founded Blue Zephyr Studios, LLC in 2001 and combined these passions. Bluezstudios specializes in Fine Art and Design along with Custom Pet Portraits. It originally started as a web design business. What she really wanted to do was paint. She has been painting to music and painting pets ever since. Life is good.

She is a 1981 graduate of the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Graphic and Advertising Design and a minor in Art History.  For fourteen years, Leslie worked for a major chemical corporation as an in-house Graphic Designer. That is where the entrepreneurial spirit grew!

Mako is her first Airedale and her first show dog. He recently finished his championship and will be shown as a special in the future. He visits the park everyday, walks at least two miles and hangs out with his dog buddies.
Leslie and Mako also share their home with Punch the PBGV. PBGV stands for Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen. It means she is a small, hairy basset from the Vendeen region of France.
