Gena Welch Booher lives very happily outside Ocala, Florida with her
husband, Chuck, and their four Airedales Rita, Ellie, Trudy, and the puppy
Bellona. She is a middle-school geography teacher, and when she is not
herding either students or Airedales, she is out riding horses or serving
as "ListMom" for Airedale-L, an international community of people who are
smitten with Airedales. This block was inspired by a 'specimen-gathering' adventure during the winter of 1996. The Lovely Rita was just a puppy, then. Snow had covered the ground, and a brief thaw had crusted the top of the snow with a slick layer of solid ice. Gena went tumbling, which Rita found highly amusing... until she, too, lost her footing and had to scramble like Bambi on Ice! |
