ATCA Rescue Network
If you have an Airedale who needs to come into rescue, or if you are interested
in
adopting a rescue dog, please contact the person closest to you on the list.
That person
will be able to help you, either directly or by putting you in contact with an
appropriate
rescue person nearer to you. If there is a major rescue group serving your
state, please
contact the rescue group before contacting the regional coordinator.

How Could You?
When I was a puppy, I entertained you with my antics and made you laugh. You
called me your child, and despite a number of
chewed shoes and a couple of murdered throw pillows, I became your best friend.
Whenever I was "bad," you'd shake your
finger at me and ask "How could you?" – but then you'd relent, and roll me over
for a bellyrub.

Introducing Cats and Dogs
Dogs can kill a cat very easily, even if they’re only playing. All it takes is one shake and the cat’s neck can break. Some dogs have such a high prey drive they should never be left alone with a cat.
Dogs usually want to chase and play with cats, and cats usually become afraid and defensive. Please use extreme caution!

Behavior problems frequently seen in rescue animals
Rescue animals pose many problems that are not always apparent to those people
adopting or rescuing them. Many of these medical problems may not surface for
weeks, months, or, in some cases, years. I will discuss some of the behavior
problems that we often encounter when dealing with rescue animals. First,
though, I would like to discuss a few of the medical conditions that can
greatly influence an animal's behavior.
