There are no dog bits in this pie, and it doesn't taste doggy, for sure. It does have the colours of the Airedale in the finished pie: black and tan.
5 cups thinly sliced cooking apples
Procedure: Cook gently in a 2 quart saucepan for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Fill pastry with apple mixture. Cover with top crust and decorate with a cut-out "A" for Airedale, or an Airedale cutout. Bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees and then thirty minutes longer at 350 degrees. This is a really good pie.
