This may happen for a wide variety of reasons: an owner becomes ill, a dog gets lost and picked up by a shelter, a family moves and is unable to take the dog along, people get divorced (or married) and move to different living arrangements, an owner's job starts to require a lot of time or travel, people have a baby and decide they can't handle a dog.

        The Airedale Terrier Club of America (ATCA), founded in 1900, is the parent club of the breed in the United States and is the official spokes-organization for the breed with the American Kennel Club.

      • California Airedale Club (Bay Area)
        The CATC serves the Bay Area and its environs and has a membership of nearly 100 Airedale lovers. Members receive the bi-monthly newsletter containing show reports, breeding data, articles of interest and updates on club activities.
      • Southern California Airedale Association
        SCCA, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1927. One of our club's most productive and enjoyable activities is the annual June Show and Puppy Sweepstakes. Judging is followed by a luncheon put on by the Club Members. The park-like setting at Cal State Long Beach (where the show is held) lends to a pleasant atmosphere for members and newbies to chat and learn. Our every other monthly meetings afford an opportunity for usual business and planning for our yearly show and fundraisers.         The Lone Star Airedale Terrier Club (LSATC) welcomes Airedale lovers from all over Texas and Oklahoma. We have members in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, many other cities and towns across Texas and several from cities and towns in Oklahoma. Our members include everyone: breeders; exhibitors; AKC judges; trainers; companion dog owners; and people who dream of owning an Airedale -- in short, all Airedale lovers.
