Why support the Airedale Quilting Bee Raffle?

The Quilt raffle allows many caring volunteers to continue the work they do best—fostering and rehoming Airedales. These tasks are important, but none could be completed without the necessary funding.

Last year, many dedicated teams rescued 670 purebred Airedales. The average cost of rehoming an Airedale was $225.00. Some Airedales came with heartworm, injuries, or other medical needs which increased their costs into the thousands.

All monies raised by the Airedale Quilting Bee are carefully used by the ATCA Rescue and Adoption Committee to reimburse volunteers for these costs. Without your support, Airedale Rescue would not be the successful program it is today.

Why become a rescue volunteer?
Volunteers fill many necessary roles. These include fostering, grooming, transporting, training, writing newsletters, holding fundraisers, and sending much needed monetary donations. Everyone can do something to help needy Airedales. These dogs deserve a chance, just like the ones we love at home. For more information start here: www.airedalerescue.net

"Hi, my name is Herta and I love Airedale Terriers. Our first Airedale was Arko who lived to be 13 1/2 and passed away February 15, 1993. Very sad. After his passing I wanted an Airedale the next day because the house was so empty but had to wait three months for a puppy from Phyllis Beecroft. I really wanted two puppies but she would not do it! Since she was also a rescue person, I told her I would take a rescue dog along with a puppy (who we named Teddy). She found us a beautiful big abused Airedale named Beau. He was scared of noises and of course thunderstorms, and we helped him through them. Eventually we adopted two female puppy mill leftovers, Lottie and Grechen, and two years later another Airedale six months old that nobody wanted. His name is Rudy. We then had a nice family of five lovely Airedales that kept us busy and amused! Unfortunately we lost our beautiful Beau two years ago in April and our sweet Lottie in September 2002 to cancer. We miss them terribly. Teddy is now eleven. If I can make a difference to help an abused, neglected, and hurting Airedale, and there seem to be too many, I am only too happy to do so. It is a pleasure to support Airedale Rescue and read about happy endings."
