Lori lives with her husband, Ron Swisher, and they are owned by
their ADTs, Flo (8) and Forge (5). Flo is a certified therapy dog and
Lori and Flo do pet therapy at a couple local nursing homes. Flo and
Lori are now taking some advanced obedience classes. Forge and Ron are
training for the hunting of grouse and waterfowl. Flo and Forge go to
Vermont in January to go skiing, and to the beach in Delaware in the
summer. Flo and Forge also live with their two cats, AJ and Flux. This
block is the fourth hand-appliqued quilt block Lori has made for the
annual Airedale Rescue quilt raffles. Lori is thrilled to be part of
this effort to raise funds to help all the deserving Rescue 'Dales.

At the Harrisburg, PA Kennel
Club show in 2003, I got a huge fuzzy, wooly, squeaky bone for Flo and
Forge. It was so large, when one had it, the other could easily grab it
too. In a couple photos, I captured their "sharing" of the bone which
was my inspiration for my block. In the block, Forge is portrayed as
happily holding the bone in his mouth when Flo comes up and makes her
move to take it from him. Forge is looking up at me as if to say, "Mum -
tell her to let go - I'm playing with it now!" |
