I am Linda Bell and I live in Des Moines, Iowa, with my three Airedales and a very understanding roommate. I have been employed by the federal government at the VA hospital in Des Moines for over 30 years. For the last 25 years I have been a respiratory therapist. One of the greatest pleasures I have in my life is working with active and retired service personnel who have so graciously served our country. My hobbies include gardening, reading, pet therapy, and quilting. A great deal of my spare time is spent with Airedale rescue. I serve as the Iowa Airedale rescue coordinator and provide foster care for several rescues a year. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on the last three quilts. My Airedales include my 12-year-old male, Yoda. He has been involved in obedience and agility and was my first pet therapy dog. Counselor Troy is my 8-year-old female and all around sweet girl who is my current therapy dog. Last but not least, is the newest member in the family, Reggie. She is also 8-years-old and started out as a foster. She has the greatest personality, even after being chained outside for most of her life. I would like to dedicate my block in memory of Marley (a friends ADT that passed away) it is her picture that I used to make the pattern for my quilt block, and to the courage Pepper Rose is showing in her forever home. |
