My name is Gina Bentz and I live in Tallahassee, Florida with my husband, three children (ages 8, 6, and 4) and Kacee.  I work fulltime as an auto estimator for an insurance company.  This is my first year working on the quilt and I'm really excited about combining my love for quilting with my love for the breed.  I am the second generation of my family to work on the quilt.  (I was introduced to the Bee by my mother.)  I have had airedales since I was three years old.  You just can't beat the love, laughter, loyalty and friendship this breed brings to your life.  I hope to become more involved with Airedale rescue when my children are older.  I enjoy working with such a talented group to promote the most wonderful animal in the world.

I designed the block with my thoughts on my beloved Maxx who crossed the rainbow bridge two years ago. He loved helium balloons. He would chase them endlessly until they either escaped or popped. We would buy him balloons on a regular basis just to let him have some fun. He would wait patiently for us to tie them to his collar and then he would run all around the yard ... first he would try to outrun them, then he'd run in circles trying to catch them and ultimately he would start trying to jump straight up after them. It was hilarious to watch. Once he managed to grab the strings he would prance around like a clown at the circus. Only on accident would he pop them. I guess the sight of such a large dog with those great big teeth trotting around with something as fragile as a balloon was symbolic of just how unique these puppies are.
