I live in Panama City , Florida in the Panhandle of Florida.  Panama City is located on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico .  I have a sign business but for all practical purposes am now retired.  My son is running the business and I go in only when necessary.  My husband is also retired and we have moved from in town out to the beach.

I had just started a quilting class about the time the first quilt was made.  Since that time I have become hooked on quilting.  I have taken many classes and tried lots of different techniques.  I have just finished a very large king size quilt that was entered in the quilt show in Panama City in February.  It has been a pleasure to watch this group evolve.  There are so many talented people involved all with the same purpose - to help those wonderful dales.

My husband and I have had Airedales 35 of the 40 years we have been married. Bugle Annie is our wild child.  Annie was 9 months old when we picked her up for Airedale Rescue.  We intended to foster her until a home was found for her.  Well, you know the rest of the story.  Annie is 4 years old.  She is a busy busy girl always checking out everybody and everything.  She got along with Maggie just fine and loves small children.  She loves to walk and is already to go.

Maggie, was our sweet girl who lived to 10 years old. She was a big girl and unfortunately had hip dsyplasia. We got her when she was 8 weeks old. Maggie, was an FSU Seminole and had to visit the University of Florida Vet School many many times as a young girl. She had several surgeries there and had an artificial hip when she was 10 months old. Maggie wass laid back and a true sole mate. She had very bad arthritis in the hip that was not replaced. She showed such courage and just kept on going without complaining until the end (November 2003).

We have two grown children who have Airedales in their homes.  My son has a rescue dale Miss Boo who is 7 years old and my daughter has three children 8, 6, and 4, and a one and a half year old dale.  They lost their first dale Max last year at the age of 9 with renal failure.

My block is made in memory of my sweet Maggie.  It depicts her drinking out of a water hose which was one of her favorite things to do.
